Junior/Intermediate Interior Designer – Retail Studio 

The Role 

CORE is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer with 1-5 years of Retail experience. This position is in our rapidly expanding Retail Implementation Studio. This is a full-time, in-person, position with a focus on fast paced, technical heavy retail roll-outs.

Role Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in REVIT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent graphic presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Sketch-Up, Enscape, 3D Studio Max & Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Fluency in French would be an added advantage.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with the production and execution of projects for SD, DD, CD and CA Phase
  • Basic understanding of code and design concepts, able to reference applicable codes and references for implementation
  • Basic understanding of CA Phase, tracking and submittals
  • Ability to produce and execute drawing graphic standards with limited supervision
  • Ability to develop innovative and functional design solutions and processes for improved design and quality
  • Participate in the creation of the Concept Design, Schematic Design, and Design Development packages, proposals, bidding and tender packages, construction documents, and working budgets
  • Ensure projects are on track to meet project requirements, deadlines, and budgets
  • Assist in the development of material and finish specifications
  • Participate in the preparation of the specifications and assist with the coordination of the FF&E, interior architecture plans, finishes, and products with the client
  • Contribute to the review of the design development packages, construction documents, and drawing packages for accuracy, design integrity, and brand compliance
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and staff

The Role 

CORE Architects is seeking ambitious, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Junior, Intermediate and Senior Interior Designers to join our rapidly expanding interior design studio. This is a full-time, in-person, position with a focus on interior design projects within the residential, retail, hospitality and commercial sectors.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 2-10 years of relevant experience in the design process, FF&E, specifications, colour selection, and materials
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD (minimum 2010), Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, Microsoft Office applications as well as a working knowledge of 3D Studio Max
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code
  • Exceptional graphics and presentation skills to communicate ideas including effective verbal and written skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members
  • Proven ability to identify and solve problems with creative solutions
  • Strong client management and leadership abilities

Architectural Technologist/Intern Architect 

The Role 

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Technologist/Intern Architect with excellent communication skills, 5-10 years of demonstrated professional experience in architectural design, and exceptional skills in producing and coordinating contract documents.

Role Requirements

  • Proficient with Revit v2020 and AutoCAD v2020 or higher
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of primary programs in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of Sketch up and similar 3D modeling massing software
  • Knowledge of design and construction approvals processes
  • Knowledge of materials and methods and their application
  • Ability to work independently and be self motivated
  • Knowledge of developing and coordinating documents at all phases of work

Project Manager

The Role

CORE is seeking an experienced project manager who will focus on guiding project teams through all phases of the design process; providing mentoring to junior staff on the development of excellent technical modelling and detailing skills and the application of local building code and zoning ordinances. You will also be responsible for client communications, contract documentation, project scheduling, team leadership, building design, revenue projections and construction administration.

Role Requirements

  • Strong design ability to work with Principals and lead, develop and maintain design intent on residential projects of various scales.
  • Manage project delivery process and ensure that design reviews occur at the designated stages of projects.
  • Able to manage several major projects concurrently
  • Familiar with stipulations of standard OAA 600 and 900 contracts
  • Create and monitor project schedules against allocated budgets.
  • Monitor scope creep and facilitate additional service requests when required
  • Strong technical ability to lead and coordinate a cross disciplinary team to ensure that project requirements, deliverables, compliance to authorities/regulations having jurisdiction and deadlines for all phases of work are maintained.
  • Manage QA/QC throughout the life of a project with an emphasis on technical excellence, constructability, and value-engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture Design
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of industry experience
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of architectural design, building codes construction and costs
  • Proven ability to identify and solve problems and resolve conflicts
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • AutoCAD and Revit skills required.
  • LEED AP certification is a plus
